How to Get Crowdsolving Right?

Crowdsolving can be powerful—but only if you match the process to the problem.
For complex challenges, it’s not enough to ask for ideas. The crowd needs to make sense of the problem together, share perspectives, and build integrative solutions. Without this, you get noise—not progress.
For simpler challenges, such as identifying new markets or product extensions, asking for deep collaboration adds unnecessary friction. A straightforward idea-sharing approach works better.
The real challenge isn’t tapping the crowd—it’s knowing how to guide them. Inspired by MIT SMR (2025)
